The 44 works above are by by 20 artists and are sequenced in order of submission. From these entries, 33 finalists were chosen to be displayed in the First Annual Permanent Collection Exhibition, from April 23 to June 1, 2006, at the Roanoke Rescue Mission. Ed Dolinger served as head curator and announced the winners at the reception on Sunday, April 23, 2006 from 3 to 5 pm. Works not chosen for the permanent collection were available for sale.

Our aims are to make quality art events affordable, attractive and accessible to our members and the public; and to encourage and support one another while fostering creativity and joyfully exploring the arts.

As a Virginia Museum of Fine Arts "Community Partner", we deliver many special services from the VMFA to the region.

In cooperation with related organizations, we make otherwise impossible programs a reality.

Volunteer:
The BRAA has no paid employees. Members' financial support and committee work make our activities possible.

Tax Deductible:
IRS 501(c)(3) status was granted in 1998, renewed in 2003.
