Sponsored by the Blacksburg Regional Art Association (BRAA) and the League of Roanoke Artists (LRA). This exhibition, like its predecessors "Ths Shoe Show" in 2006 and "All Critters Great and Small" in 2007 will focus on particular subject matter - in this case interpretations of the landscape in the New River and the Roanoke Valleys.
Let’s go everyone – start creating. But don't just think realism. All types of interpretations are encouraged: classic, representational, abstract, wall sculpture, etc. Everyone, go wild with your imaginations! |
- Eligibility: Open to all members of BRAA and LRA. Any artist who is not currently a member of either of these organizations may enter the exhibition by joining one of the organizations at the time of entry.
- Exhibition location: VTLS, Inc. corporate headquarters, 1701 Kraft Drive, Blacksburg, Virginia 24060. Open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM.
- Entry fee: $5.00 per piece for any BRAA or LRA current member. The cost for any artist not a member of either of these organizations is $35.00 for the first piece and $5.00 for any additional piece. This non-member fee includes a one-year membership to BRAA or LRA (artist’s choice).
- Entry details: Limit of two artworks per artist. Acceptance is on a first come first served basis. Artwork details: About 40 pieces of art will be installed. The maximum, framed size is 48” in width or height. Weight is restricted to 30 lbs, including frame. Artwork may include 3D components that do not protrude more than 12 inches (perpendicular) from the piece. All artwork must be delivered appropriately framed and ready to hang (no sawtooth hangers). The exhibition committee reserves the right to refuse to hang anyartwork that is not properlypresented or that it deems inappropriate.
- Delivery and pick-up details: All artwork must be hand delivered and picked-up from the lobby of VTLS, Inc. on the days and during the hours specified. Artwork delivered late will not be accepted. No shipped work will be accepted.
- Judge information: Michael Farrar
- Sales information: Prospective buyers will be asked to contact artists directly. No sales commissions will be charged. No artwork may be removed from the exhibition until it closes on October 14 at the end of business day.
