Then & Now

"Then and Now" pairs the earliest available art-works with a recent work of eight BRAA Artists. The invitational show was on display at the Blacksburg Library, 200 Miller St., Blacksburg VA from January 15 through April 15, 2000.

Although no two artists develop in the same way, there is a thread of beginning, then exploring, and finally discovering something that is personally fulfilling that is common to all. The artists' statements help to explain the individual paths they have followed. 2000 marks the fiftieth anniversary of the BRAA. “Then and Now” honors all artists whose lives are illuminated by their art.

Then & Now was held in conjunction with the BRAA's fiftiteth anniversary in 2000.

The show reception recognized not only the artists but also our founding members, two of whom, Dean Carter abd Frances Frederick, remain active as I write this in December 2007.

oldlogoThe pevious web design was 'nicer' than this 'archived' version, but it used a lot more space. These documents preserve the flavor of the show.
