Any wall-ready artwork which has to do with any animal, bird, insect, etc. - real or imaginary - is eligible.
Entry: The exhibition will begin July 19th and run through October 16th at VTLS, a software firm in the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Park in Blacksburg, Virginia. About 40 pieces of art can be installed in the first and second floor lobbies of the building. Entry is on a first come first served basis via receipt of the registration form.
Eligibility: Artworks of any size (weight is restricted to 30 pounds including frame) are eligible. Paintings can incorporate 3D art that does not protrude more than 12 inches (perpendicular) from the painting.
Fee: The entry fee is $5.00 per piece for any BRAA, LRA or VEAA member. The cost for anyone not a member of one of the three organizations is $35.00 for the first piece and $5.00 for any additional piece. This non-member fee includes a one-year membership to either BRAA. LRA or VEAA (artist’s choice). There is a limit of two pieces per person to allow as many people as possible to participate.
Reception: August 3, 2007, from 5pm to 8pm.. There will be several peoples’ choice awards. The date coincides with Blacksburg's "Steppin-out" festival for the enjoyment of out-of-towners.
No commission will be charged for sales
(that is, if an artist sells a painting he or she keeps all of the proceeds.)
Delivery: All artwork must be hand-delivered. No shipped work will be accepted. Artwork delivery iwll be held July 17, 2007 from 10 AM to 1 PM at VTLS.
Committee: Patricia BevanBRAA,VEAA, Gail Maslyk VEAA, Carol FryeLRA, Leslye BloomBRAA-LRA, and Kim AdelBRAA. The committee reserves the right to refuse any artwork that is not appropriate. |
