The Jacksonville Center, located in Floyd, Virginia, is on the site of a former dairy farm and includes a renovated 1940's dairy barn which now houses a vibrant arts & cultural facility for the traditional and contemporary arts. The Center's Hayloft Gallery is located on the upper level in the barn's former hayloft and will house New River Art 2005. The show spans the fall “leaf season” from October 1 to November 6, 2005. As the Center is just a stone's throw from the Blue Ridge Parkway, and the town of Floyd is a popular rest stop, there should be excellent tourist trade.
With high-traffic, beautiful scenery, modern facilities, a low (only 25%) sales commission, great awards, and reasonable entry fee ($25 for three entries on slides or CD,) New River Art 2005 is a “must-enter” event for area artists.
