Delbert Jones' "Van Gogh Hokie Bird" was featured on the Extra-1 Page of the Roanoke Times on Sunday August 27, 2006 - A humorous note: He was almost arrested driving his hokie bird to campus... they thought he might be stealing it.
Sarah Meadows' "Ut Prosim" Gobbler Statue in memory of Thomas “Nick” Brantley was featured in the New River Current on Sunday, August 27, 2006.

Vandals continue to fly at Hokie statues. Artist Sally Mook of Blacksburg poses with the Hokie Bird statue she designed called “Something for Everyone.” Vandals ripped the Burruss Hall hat off the bird, which stands in front of the National Bank of Blacksburg building downtown.

BRAA Artists chosen for the Town of Blacksburg 2006 Calendar:

January: Akiko Yamamuro; February:Walling Cyre; May and cover: Carole Carrera Davis; June: Leslye Bloom; July: Lisabeth Weisband; August: David Hutchins; September: Marie L. Collier; October : Leslie Roberts Gregg; and November: Nancy C. Hedges.

The calendar will be available to the public in early December and can be picked up for free at Town sites including the Municipal Building at 300 South Main Street and the Community and Aquatic Centers on Patrick Henry Drive. Anyone with questions can contact .

"It should be a really beautiful calendar this year and I am pleased that so many BRAA members submitted their work." Out of 70 submissions, 9 of 12 months were awarded to BRAA Artists.
