"BRAA's Lois Stephens in the News."

BRAA member, Lois Stephens recently received two different honors for her paintings.

One of her pieces, "Pandapas Pond, Winter" received a blue ribbon at the BRAA booth in Art on the Lawn in Pearisburg on October 3^rd.
She also recently had one of her worked entitled "Summer Field at Southgate" placed on the web site of The Cloud Appreciation Society.

"The Arts of Cedric Rudisill and Lee Penny Baker are selected for display by the Arts Council of the Blue Ridge."

The Arts Council of the Blue Ridge has released the names of the 43 artists whose work was selected for the 30^th annual Roanoke City Art Show, which opens next Thursday, October 1^st., the first day of the Roanoke Arts Festival.

The show runs through November 8^th., in the second floor galleries at Center in the Square in downtown Roanoke. This year's juror, Beth Grabowski, is an art professor at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. The reception and awards ceremony happens from 5 - 7 PM., on the opening day.

BRAA President Nancy Norton was featured in the August 28^th., issue of The Collegiate Times. The article focuses on Nancy's work with stained glass. The full story may be read at the The Collegiate Times.

"Program gets student artists involved in arts community."

CommunityArtsWork is a partnership between Virginia Tech and the regional arts association.

An article appears on the Roanoke Times mentioning the cooperation between Virginia Tech and BRAA developed by Jeri Childers and Nancy Norton of the two orgainzations. The full story may be read at the Roanoke Times.
