Founded in 1950, the Blacksburg Regional Art Association
(BRAA) promotes, encourages, and supports the arts in Blacksburg
and the surrounding region - Christiansburg, Radford, Pulaski, Narrows
and the other communities in the New River Valley. Our calendar
each year - beginning in the fall and ending in the spring - consists
of regular monthly programs and various special events. Details
of the year's calendar are published each fall.

The BRAA organizes programs in the visual and performing
arts, including painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, graphics,
music, dance and theatre. We sponsor lecture/demonstration programs,
artist workshops in area high schools, outdoor art shows, members'
exhibitions, the Artmobile, and other activities made possible through
our affiliation with the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.
